My name is Megan Gillen, and I am running for the Holland Patent School Board this year. My husband, our two children, and I have lived in Barneveld since 2023. Originally from Massachusetts, I have lived
in eight different states, but New York has quickly become one of my favorites.

From community clean-ups to neighbors helping neighbors, we have found this community to be welcoming, supportive, and tight-knit. I truly feel grateful to call it home.

As a nurse with more than ten years of experience, I have spent my career advocating for others, working in high-pressure environments, and prioritizing safety and communication. These experiences have prepared me to listen, collaborate, and make thoughtful decisions for our community.

As a parent of children currently in the school system, I see firsthand how important education and safety are for our students and families. It truly takes a village to raise children, and strong schools are an important part of that village. When our schools succeed, our entire community benefits. Our children are our future, and they deserve the best opportunities possible. That starts both at home and in the classroom.
